Felt to race in the Tour

I rec'd some pretty cool info yesterday that Felt bicycles will be lining up with the best during this years 2008 tour De France. Team Slipstream/Felt coached by Jonathon Vaughters brings a talented team with recognizable names....David Millar, american David Zabriskie, Magnus Backstedt, and sprinter Julian Dean. The other rosters are unknown allthough Vaughters is hopeful to bring young US star Danny Pate. It should make for an interesting Tour this year with 2 american teams, hopefully we'll have a few americans to cheer on other than Montana's very own Levi.

Good luck in de tour Felt !!

week of pics

it's been a busy week with lots of bike repairs coming in. The feast after a winter of famine. Lots of really cool projects and a few happy new bike owners too.

Jean and his new Vassago Bandersnatch

Robert and his Felt Virtue

and here's a couple of pics of Don's super cool Masi road bike....Don wanted some new on the bar ergo shifters, easier gearing, and to get away from his old 27" tubular wheels.

my old VAR adjustable spanner helped me with the above of my personal favorite tools.

and some really hot components.

road ridin'

Beautiful weekend here in the Bitterroots.....with temps in the 50's both saturday and sunday i found myself turning circles on the road bike both days. Saturday was a nice mellow three hour outting on a solo ride that took me to Darby and back via dirt/asphalt road mixture. I got an early 8:30am start that was actually almost too early as it was still a chilly 28d when i left, even had a few snowflakes falling. Since i was planning on working a few hours i figured an early start was best to get me back at a reasonable time.

The shop stayed fairly busy for a saturday afternoon and we had a few visitors come down from Missoula....mostly tire kicking. Aaron put the finishing touches to a couple of tune ups which allowed me a little time to BS with the regular customers, Thanks Aaron ! Plans were also hatched saturday afternoon that it was that time of the year to start our weekly Sunday morning road, for those of you with a road bike we'll be leaving from Kiwannis Park in town at 11AM every sunday morning until the snow melts from the trails.

Todays ride was wind at all and mid 50's felt great. 7 of us showed up and headed north to Victor via westside backroads. The pace picked up slighty just before getting there as Bender and i took off from the others. I didn't last very long at all as the cobwebs were blocking the path for oxygen (advantage Bender)....We regrouped in Victor and decided to head back to town on Eastside Hwy., Deano provided the free tow back to town and the rest of us were accepting of the fact and tucked in for the (almost) free ride.

in the stand

aaahhh, the flirtation of spring. Nothing like a deserving 60d day to put cycling minded folks in the mood for pedaling bicycles. The past couple of days has been exciting around here as folks are starting to stumble in from a long winter of skiing and other snow activities. We had a pair that came in today from Des Moines Iowa, and we chatted about the midwest, RAGBRAI, corn, and humidity. Nice folks for sure, but aren't most cyclists ???? They seemed to like the ol' Red Barn too as one kindly asked to take a few pics of some of the old bikes hanging around. Heck ya -Sure thing, take as many as you like.

But's a couple of bikes currently in the stand, some minor and some major issues.
on the tuner...........Galactic ; Action Speaks Louder than Words. Good stuff.
