1st Annual Skalkaho Mt Tour

the innagural ride went off without a hitch, was recepted very well and i'm positive the second incarnation will be even better. The 56 mile loop which started and ends right from the shop climbed 3500ft before topping out deep into the Sapphire mt range and had fantastic views of the Bitterroot Range. The decent back down was a little loose since it's been fairly dry but i heard folks kept it safe and just about everyone kept the rubber side down. Once back at the shop the riders were awarded free Bitterroot Brewery beer and grilled food by our pal Paul Weese. For the full story....here's Ravalli Republic's version

here's a few pics

Twenty 6

so, about a month ago or so Bret and I headed over to Bozeman to hook up with good buddies, meet with MMBA, and also sample some of the super fine singletrack that is in their backyard. While we were there John P gave us the tour of Tyler's machine shop where Twenty 6 bicycle products are born and bred.

Pioneer Mountains

Tahepia Lake......possibly destined to be close within 3 months from changes within travel management policy. So MMBA decided to coordinate an advocacy/possible last ride hurrah. The 8 mile long trail gains 2400 ft and eventually drops you off at one of the more scenic high alpine lakes in all of western montana. Following the creekbed you weave in and out of logpole covered forests and wildflower filled meadows with clear mountain streams that cut away at their own aimless route. 24 folks gathered to bid fairwell to the fantastic trail and the trailside company was fantastic.

the Inbred.....26" wheels and slack 66d headtube. All Mountain hardtail.

wed nighter

wed. night ride and our first ride up Blodgett Canyon this spring, we rode until the snow turned us back around which was just past the pack bridge. The trail is in perfect shape right now and a trail crew has recently been up there clearing downfall. There may have been a couple of logs laying across the trail but that pretty much qualifies as being near perfect for the Bitterroot. Thanks trail crew.

bitterroot beauties

these two older schwinn middleweight cruisers just arrived yesterday.....the ladies schwinn is a mid-60's American and is selling for $150 and the late 60's Jaguar with 5 spd drive train is selling for $120. Both bikes are good runners and will make perfect errand bikes.

i've been absent on here lately.....i apologize for that. Spring business seems to have that effect on me and my ability to post on a regular basis. But since i snapped so many darn photos while down in Moab this past week i figured it was due time to update the ol' blogger. Posted are some of my personal favorites.

Stevensville Bike Safety

spent thursday afternoon up at the Stevensville Jr High, tuning and adjusting a total of 20 Schwinn Predator BMX bikes. Mostly adjusting bearings, tightening fasteners, lubing chains, and airing up the tires. After about 4 or5 bikes went by my brain went numb and it felt like full blown production work. Still happy to turn wrenches though no matter what shade of neon. Thanks for the work and inviting us up John !
